Dr. Kathryn Wiesman is a fellowship-trained, board-certified, pediatric orthopedic surgeon. Her training includes the comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and management of the full spectrum of children’s musculoskeletal systems, from birth through the teenage years. She has a special interest in the management of congenital, developmental, and traumatic conditions affecting children, such as fracture care, infection, clubfoot, hand and limb deformities, cerebral palsy, and other neuromuscular conditions, hip and spine disorders.

Dr. Wiesman earned her bachelor’s degree from Rice University and her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She graduated with high honors and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She received the American Medical Women’s Association Glasgow-Rubin Achievement Award for outstanding female medical students and the Johanna Blumel Memorial Scholarship Award for a top female scholar. She completed her orthopedic residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth and attended Washington University for her pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship in St. Louis. She is a member of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America and the Scoliosis Research Society and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Outside of work, Dr. Wiesman is a committed athlete. She spent much of her youth dancing ballet and now competes in endurance events such as marathons and Ironman triathlons. Although Dr. Wiesman’s favorite vacations are cycling tours with her husband, recently, they have swapped out a few bike bottles for baby bottles as they spend time with their twin boys.
