Born and raised in Gainesville, Florida, Dr. Cyrus Abbaschian graduated from the University of Florida in 2005 with Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. He attended Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, and then completed an internship in general surgery and residency in orthopedic surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School & Parkland Memorial Hospital. Dr. Abbaschian spent three months as a senior registrar in the department of Trauma and Orthopedics at The Norwich and Norfolk University Hospital in Norwich, England. After his residency, Dr. Abbaschian completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal surgical oncology at Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. His fellowship focused on complex orthopaedic bone and soft tissue oncology with innovative limb salvage techniques.

The scope of his practice encompasses the evaluation and treatment of bone and soft tissue sarcomas, complex joint reconstruction, limb salvage surgery, and management of metastatic disease to the bones. He has authored papers on mechanisms of failure in hip arthroplasty and management of infections in joint replacement. He lives in Dallas with his wife and children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring parks with his two golden retrievers, watching sports, and enjoying Dallas BBQ.
